IoT-Based Earthquake Monitoring and Alert System

An Internet of Things-enabled system is developed in this project to identify earthquake activity and send out real-time notifications. To track ground vibrations, the system makes use of an MPU6050 accelerometer and an ESP32 microprocessor. Alerts are transmitted to a remote server using Firebase for real-time monitoring when the measured seismic activity exceeds a predetermined threshold. Users are ensured to get messages through SMS or smartphone alerts due to a wireless communication interface, which enables prompt knowledge of possible dangers. This system provides an economical and effective method of earthquake monitoring and is intended for installation in commercial, industrial, and residential environments. Its cloud-based alerting system and real-time data reporting improve safety and readiness by reducing the hazards connected to seismic events.
