The primary objective of this project is to enhance driver comfort and vehicle handling by designing and building an electromechanical power steering system. To provide variable steering assistance based on driving conditions, the system combines an electric motor, torque sensors, and a control unit. A small motor connected to the steering shaft is used to build a prototype, and its functionality is assessed under various load scenarios. The project highlights how electromechanical systems are more energy-efficient, lighter, and require less maintenance than classic hydraulic ones. To evaluate torque output, response time, and overall efficiency, real-time testing is performed.
